Acorn & Oak is opening in Martinez in December 2026 — a small-group center where every room is capped at or below half of what Georgia legally allows.
Martinez is where we are putting the center, and where Perla has been running a licensed in-home program for years. This is not a location we picked off a map because the ZIP code looked good. It is where we live and where the families we already serve live.
Four rooms, 33 children, newborn through age five, open 7:00am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Tuition is $325 a week per child ($350 for infants), all-inclusive — home-cooked meals, all learning materials, all activities and celebrations. Registration is $120 a year. Families provide their child’s personal care items.
| Room | Our group size | Georgia’s legal maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Infants | 6 | 12 |
| Younger toddlers | 8 | 16 |
| Older toddlers | 7 | 20 |
| Preschool | 12 | 30 |
Those maximums are real and in force across Columbia County right now. A licensed center in Martinez may legally put thirty three-year-olds in one room. Here is the regulation in full, and why those numbers are a poor deal for a child.
Georgia put every licensed program’s inspection reports and complaint history online in July 2026. Search 30907 at families.decal.ga.gov and you can read the file on any Martinez program — including ours — before you pick up the phone. We wrote a guide to reading what you find.
The center opens in December. Until then, tours happen at Perla’s current in-home program here in Columbia County, which is the honest way to see the space, ask your questions, and get a feel for how we care for children.
We will publish the street address as soon as our final approvals are complete. Waitlist families hear it first.
We open in Martinez in December 2026, and founding families are choosing their spots now. Tour Perla’s current program, and see how a day runs before you commit to anything.
We are opening with a deliberately small number of children. The list is short.
